The objective of Interfolk is to contribute to enlightenment and cultural activities with focus on human formation and active citizenship in the context of liberal adult education, cultural work and voluntary associations in the civic society.

Interfolk will strive

·          to create partnerships with Nordic and European associations within liberal adult education, NGO-activities and the spheres of voluntary art and culture;

·          to further develop the general educational and cultural events that focus on existential, cultural and socio-political issues and offer a Nordic-European perspective on the importance of living democracy, active citizenship, cultural cohesion and personal autonomy;

·          to ensure that the objective to strengthen lifelong learning adhered to by the European Commission and the Nordic Council of Ministers also continues the best of the intentions of the Nordic-European tradition of enlightenment. A tradition that distinguishes itself by a coherent view of life, historic awareness, cultural insight and clear political intellectual targets.

The aim being to bridge the gap between the history of our past and the future we are heading towards.
